The Glenmore Garden Market is held each year on the first Saturday in May to celebrate the opening of tour season at Glenmore Victorian Mansion in Jefferson City. Tours are given on weekends from May - October.

Garden Market 2008 will be May 3 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Vendors will sell plants, flowers and other garden related items during the market, along with Tennessee Strawberries, plants and cuttings from Glenmore members and friends' gardens.

The Tea Time Tent will serve lunch, including the ever-popular strawberry shortcake. New this year will be a Aunt Hettie's Book Booth that will feature garden books.

The Market and lectures are free. Tours of the mansion will be available with purchase of a ticket at the event.

Proceeds from the Garden Market are used for on-going restoration of the Jefferson City historical landmark, a fully furnished 1869 mansion built by John Roper Branner and maintained by volunteer members of Glenmore Chapter, Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities.

For vendor information call Sharon Redden at 865-932-4193. For Garden Market information call Janet McLane at 865-397-9050.
