Garden Market Wish List PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 April 2008

Donations are Welcome!

Here is our "wish list" for 2008:

Gardening and other books.....

If you have any or know of someone that is moving and no longer gardening we would appreciate adding them to Aunt Hettie's Books sale. Please leave on the back porch of Glenmore in a bag or box with a note "For the Garden Market" attached.

Bakery Items.....

Bake sale items are needed for the Glenmore Bakery located in the Tea Time Tent. Cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, rolls, and breads are all welcome. Please wrap cookies and brownies individually or in packages of 6. Cakes etc. should be wrapped ready for sale. Idea: flower shaped cookies would be great

Fresh flowers (bring on Market Day).....

for our Victorian Flower Lady to use to "tell you all about yourself."

Containers.....

that Jerry Hardy can use for flower arrangements that are given away during the market. Leave on Glenmore back porch.

Your time.....

as a volunteer. Call Janet at 865-397-9050 or click the Contact Us link in the menu on this page.

And Most of All.....

Plants and cuttings from your garden or your friends garden for the Member and Friends Plant Sale. Helen LaShier 865-397-7307 is in charge of this booth. Please call her if you have questions.

We would like to encourage you to divide plants you have as they come up this Spring. You might even have shrubs that have rooted off-sets that are easy to pot. Remember to stick a label in the pot with plant name, color, and approximate height to help us answer questions the day of the sale.

Plants that are fresh dug at time of sale day dry out quickly and are difficult to sell.

Please help us to realize the most income from the plants you bring. Good plants and a variety of plants will give the public a good reason to come and shop our Market every year.

This helpful information came from Gaylord Wirth several years ago and is well worth printing again. We thank Gaylord for all his good tips and contribution to the Glenmore Garden Market.

Happy Spring gardening!
